Travel Photo Gallery Links

Polar Bears of Churchill - October, 2006 - The photos in this gallery were taken during a five day Tundra Buggy Adventure along the coast of Hudson Bay. We spent three nights at Tundra Buggy Lodge out on the sub-arctic tundra photographing the polar bears that migrate through Churchill, Manitoba. Besides the polar bears we also spotted arctic foxes, arctic hares, ptarmigans, and a solitary snowy owl.

America's Stonehenge - 03 July 2006 - At over 4000 years old, America's Stonehenge in Salem, NH is possibly the oldest man-made construction in the United States. It is not known who built the many chambers, walls, and meeting places, however there is very strong evidence that the site was home to a migratory European population. The site originally opened in 1958 under the name "Mystery Hill Caves". It was renamed to America's Stonehenge in 1982. For visitor information, refer to their official website.

Morocco - May 2006 - This gallery contains images taken on Gate 1 Travel's Affordable Morocco tour. The tour began in Casablanca and included visits to Rabat, Meknes, Fez, and Marrakesh.

New York City Day Trip - 27 May 2006 - I had an evening flight out of JFK to Morocco today, so I took the opportunity to spend several hours in New York City. I hired a car and driver for a brief visit to several sights. It happened to be Fleet Week, so the city was rather crowded. We stopped briefly at Times Square, Ground Zero, and Battery Park before heading back to Queens for my flight.

Route of the Maya Tour - February, 2006 - Photos from a 14-day trip to El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Belize from February 21 to March 6, 2006. The gallery includes visits to Copan, Antigua, Lake Atitlan, Yakha, Tikal, and Caracol.

All of the photos in this gallery are available for purchase.

Website News

Friday, January 19, 2007 - Multiple Updates

I finally brought the photo galleries up-to-date. I added a number of galleries to PBase in 2006 and hadn't kept those links up-to-date on this site. I also updated the "coming soon" section with 2007 travel plans, all of which have been booked to date. The travel section was updated as well, adding a number of tour operators and travel related sites to the sidebar. In the gaming section, I removed Asheron's Call and added Vanguard: Saga of Heroes since that will be the game I'll be playing. The left sidebar was restructured to emphasize the travel sites as opposed to the gaming sites, since the website in general is more travel and photography oriented. Finally, I removed the link to the Equilibrium site. The game itself has stagnated due to a lack of playing time, and the storyline has not been kept up-to-date, so for now the link is removed.

Monday, April 24, 2006 - Photo Update

I added links to the New Hampshire Weekend photo gallery. This gallery shows scenes from Franconia Notch and Crawford Notch in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Sunday, April 16, 2006 - Photo Update

I added links to two new themed galleries - Stone Memorials (i.e. cemeteries) and Historic Armories.

Saturday, March 25, 2006 - Photo Update

I added the Route of the Maya tour to the photo gallery section. I also updated the "coming soon" section with the tours scheduled for August and October.

Sunday, February 12, 2006 - Daily Bible Verse

I added the Daily Bible Verse from the New International Version Bible. The verse is a javascript provided by the International Bible Society.

Wednesday, February 8, 2006 - Photo Overhaul

I decided to add some color to the site and changed the format of my photo links. Now there are thumbnails pointing to each of the photo galleries instead of the bland hypertext link. I also split the gallery links into logical sections. Initially, the sections include my photo challenges, travel, and theme related galleries. The final update was the addition of a blog entry to the "Best of the Grape" section.

Saturday, December 17, 2005 - Overdue Updates

Changed the blog entries to "The Best of the Grape". Rather than link the latest 10 blog entries there I'm maintaining a list of the top entries posted to The Grape's Vine. I also added Overseas Adventure Travel to the list of travel agents, and included the State Department Consular Travel Sheets and the CDC Travel links in the general travel section. The photo gallery links were updated to include my recent excursion to Italy and to project the Morocco trip in May.

Tuesday, August 22, 2005 -- Main Page Completed!

Construction on the main page and on the Equilibrium page is complete. The addition of the Sitemeter icons on both pages marked the symbolic cornerstone ceremony for the site. All that remains now is the addition of the meta tags and registration to the various search engines. At this point, it's appropriate to say "Welcome to Kannafoot's Burrow!"

Saturday, August 20, 2005 -- Construction Continues

Construction on the site continues and is pretty close to completion. The primary links are all in place and I've added Google Adsense to the page. Once I create the site's permanent home, I'll add the meta tags and the site meter.

Friday, August 19, 2005 -- Website Construction Progress

Construction is underway for Kannafoot's Burrow. A general style and layout has been determined and content is being gradually added. Watch for progress over the next few days.
